Niagara Escarpment to be Featured at the Homestead

The Stahl-Conrad Homestead will kick off its program year with a new exhibit and a speaker at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 2.  The speaker, Herman Bender, a geologist and cultural landscape specialist, will focus on the prehistory of the Niagara Escarpment.

Concurrently, the Homestead will open an exhibit featuring artifacts that illustrate the Niagara Escarpment, a huge geographic feature that extends across much of North America, from southeastern Wisconsin north through Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and Ontario, Canada, and past Niagara Falls in New York State.  The Homestead plans additional programs on this topic throughout the summer and fall.
